Senior Designer (all genders)
Please note that this position is based in Munich and follows our hybrid working model. Relocation support is not offered.
The following adventures await you at Schleich:
Design & Development
- End-to-end responsibility for product design and creative product development in the toy sector
- Development of innovative product ideas, design concepts, and products - from research and concept boards to prototyping
- Design development in 2D and 3D, including visualization, color composition, packaging design, and industrialization
- Conducting design presentations, creative brainstorming sessions, and design and concept workshops
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Professional leadership and/or management of project and creative teams
- Representation of the design department and support of the Head of Design
- Close collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Brand Management, Engineering, and Quality
- Steering and coordination of external partners, agencies, and service providers
Planning & Organization
- Responsibility for budget and resource planning within the design function
- Optimization of processes and ensuring efficient data and project management
- Co-design and continuous development of internal design processes and standards
Your story so far:
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Design (e.g., Industrial or Product Design)
- Several years of professional experience (at least 5+ years), ideally in consumer goods product development
- Experience in the toy industry is a plus
Skills & Tools
- Strong design capabilities in 2D and 3D (sketching, model making, CAD)
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Rhino, Autodesk, SolidWorks, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with ZBrush is a strong plus
- Solid anatomical understanding and experience in figurative design, character design, or game design are advantageous
Work Style & Communication
- Creative and strategic mindset
- Structured and independent way of working with strong attention to quality
- Excellent communication skills in an international environment
- Very good English skills and willingness to travel internationally
- Leadership experience is a plus
