Student Assistant Climate and Environment
OVERVIEW
PRINCIPAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out research on a variety of climate and environmental topics (climate resilience, agroecology, scope 3 GHG emissions, agroforestry etc.) and help identify relevant actions for Fairtrade based on the research findings
- Support in benchmark analysis and mapping of other certification schemes or other relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain updated some already existing databases: Fairtrade commercial partners engaged in SBTi, C&E consultancies and institutions Fairtrade could potentially partner with etc.
- Support in the elaboration of communication materials showcasing Fairtrade's interventions on climate and environment
- Other tasks related to the climate and environment work of Fairtrade as needed.
SKILLS REQUIRED
LEVEL OF EDUCATION
The position holder must be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor's/Master's degree program focused on Economics, Business Administration, Agriculture, Agronomics or related fields. The student assistant must be enrolled in a German University.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCE AND PERSONAL QUALITIES
- Excellent proficiency and experience in data analysis, systematization, and presentation, as well as digital literacy.
- Detail oriented, accurate and systemic person with strong analytical skills
- Excellent English (Working knowledge of Spanish is desirable)
- Excellent capacity to visualize data
- Customer orientation
- Motivation for Fairtrade
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- This is a 6 months position
- Weekly working hours: 16 to 20
- Location is at Fairtrade International offices in Bonn, Germany.
- The office language is English.
- Salary as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Wholesale and Foreign Trade Industries for North Rhine Westphalia and Fairtrade International Company Agreement on wages and salaries Group II.
