For our FPGA Design Team we are looking for a: Senior Digital Design Engineer (m/f/x)
Key Responsibilities
- Drive innovation by evaluating and applying new technologies for high-speed FPGA-based data processing systems
- Take ownership of FPGA development tasks from concept definition through verification and delivery
- Design, implement, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and well-documented RTL designs
- Develop and execute simulation and verification strategies to ensure design quality and robustness
- Participate in FPGA architecture definition, design reviews, and code reviews
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and system engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge within the team
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in FPGA digital design, preferably in a telecommunications or high-performance computing environment
- Strong proficiency in at least one hardware description language (VHDL or Verilog/SystemVerilog)
- Strong understanding of digital design principles, including FSMs, pipelining, CDC, reset strategies, timing analysis, and timing closure
- In-depth knowledge of modern FPGA technologies, especially AMD/Xilinx devices and tools
- Experience with FPGA simulation and verification using tools such as QuestaSim, ModelSim, or equivalent
- Experience with hardware/software co-design
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
Preferred Qualifications

Experience implementing complex DSP algorithms in FPGA, such as FEC decoders, digital filters, FFTs, DDC/DUC, and high-throughput processing pipelines - Experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet (100G/400G), AXI4/AXI4-Stream, Aurora, JESD204B/C, and DDR memory interfaces
- Experience with FPGA verification methodologies and frameworks such as UVM, UVVM, OSVVM, or cocotb
- Programming experience in Python, TCL, or C/C++
- Experience with FPGA-based communication, aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems
