Senior Digital Design Engineer (m/f/x)

For our FPGA Design Team we are looking for a: Senior Digital Design Engineer (m/f/x) 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation by evaluating and applying new technologies for high-speed FPGA-based data processing systems
  • Take ownership of FPGA development tasks from concept definition through verification and delivery
  • Design, implement, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and well-documented RTL designs
  • Develop and execute simulation and verification strategies to ensure design quality and robustness
  • Participate in FPGA architecture definition, design reviews, and code reviews
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and system engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle
  • Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge within the team

Required Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in FPGA digital design, preferably in a telecommunications or high-performance computing environment
  • Strong proficiency in at least one hardware description language (VHDL or Verilog/SystemVerilog)
  • Strong understanding of digital design principles, including FSMs, pipelining, CDC, reset strategies, timing analysis, and timing closure
  • In-depth knowledge of modern FPGA technologies, especially AMD/Xilinx devices and tools
  • Experience with FPGA simulation and verification using tools such as QuestaSim, ModelSim, or equivalent
  • Experience with hardware/software co-design
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing complex DSP algorithms in FPGA, such as FEC decoders, digital filters, FFTs, DDC/DUC, and high-throughput processing pipelines
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet (100G/400G), AXI4/AXI4-Stream, Aurora, JESD204B/C, and DDR memory interfaces
  • Experience with FPGA verification methodologies and frameworks such as UVM, UVVM, OSVVM, or cocotb
  • Programming experience in Python, TCL, or C/C++
  • Experience with FPGA-based communication, aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems
