Regional HSSE Function Manager (m/f/d)

To further strengthen our regional HSSE capabilities, we are currently seeking an experienced and proactive professional to join our team in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands, as soon as possible as Regional HSSE Function Manager (m/f/d).

As Regional HSSE Function Manager (m/f/d), you will drive and harmonise Health, Safety, Standards & Environment (HSSE) activities across the region. You will ensure that operations meet customer requirements, regulatory obligations and KLN standards while also taking responsibility for HSSE governance requirements in the Netherlands. 

Your role combines governance, risk management, compliance, capability building and stakeholder management to strengthen safe, secure, compliant and sustainable operations across the region. 

• HSSE Governance & Customer Readiness
  Lead regional HSSE governance and ensure operational readiness regarding customer, regulatory and KLN requirements. Assess HSSE readiness for new business, renewals and operational changes and escalate unacceptable risks where necessary.
• Risk Management & Operational Controls
  Lead HSSE risk assessments across occupational safety, supply chain security and environmental protection, ensuring the consistent and effective implementation of appropriate control measures across operational areas.
• Compliance, Audits & Incident Management
  Coordinate compliance monitoring, site inspections and internal audits and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented. Oversee incident reporting, investigations and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence and drive continuous improvement. 
• Training & Capability Building
  Drive regional HSSE qualification and training initiatives, including Training Needs Assessments and train-the-trainer programmes. Coach local teams to strengthen HSSE competence, culture and the consistent application of standards and procedures.
• Stakeholder Management & Reporting
  Collaborate closely with Operations, Commercial, Legal, Insurance, HR/T&D, Product teams, ITS, Corporate HSSE and regional suppliers. Provide regular reporting on HSSE performance, risks, audits and improvement actions.

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification in HSSE, engineering, logistics, risk management or a related field.Relevant HSSE experience within logistics, transport or warehouse operations, ideally in a regional or multi-site environment.
• Good knowledge of risk management, audits, compliance and ISO-based management systems.
• Strong leadership, coaching and influencing skills, with the ability to guide local teams, build HSSE capabilities and drive the consistent implementation of standards across different functions and locations.
• A high level of ownership, integrity and professionalism, combined with the confidence to challenge unsafe or non-compliant practices and address risks constructively.
• A structured, analytical and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to prioritise risks, communicate effectively with both operational teams and senior stakeholders, and drive improvement actions.
• A flexible and adaptable approach, including willingness to travel periodically to operational sites and engage closely with teams across office, warehouse and transport environments.
• Additional experience with ISO certifications or security programmes such as TAPA, AEO or CTPAT is an advantage.
