The research group Helminth Immunology, led by Prof. Dr. Minka Breloer, investigates protective immune responses to helminth infections and the immune-evasive mechanisms employed by helminths to survive within their hosts.
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral researcher with a strong interest in infection immunology. We offer a position within a dynamic and collaborative research environment, with excellent infrastructure and outstanding opportunities for scientific and professional development.
Your profile:
- A PhD or Dr. rer. nat. in Biology, or Molecular Life Science, or closely related fields is mandatory
- Strong background in Immunology
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills are required.
- A certificate with permission to conduct animal research in accordance with the German Animal Welfare Act is required
- Extensive Experience (>1 year) in animal experimentation and flow cytometry are required
- Previous working experience in grant application writing or animal/ethnics application is required
- Experience in cell culture, molecular biology, histology, and bioinformatics are an advatage
- Ability and desire to work in a team
Your tasks:
- High quality research on helminth infection immunology supporting existing projects of the research group Helminth immunology. (https://www.bnitm.de/forschung/forschungsgruppen/interface/ag-helminthen-immunologie)
- Development of new aspects and projects within the given research focus
- Application for third-party funding and contribution to joint applications for research funds
- Supervision of PhD and Master students
- Management of murine helminth infection experiments including planning, application, supervision and execution is mandatory, extension to human studies is wellcome

Remuneration is paid in accordance with TV-AVH (collective agreement of the Hamburg Labour Law Association) in pay group EG 13. The position is initially limited to 3 years but can be extended for another 3 years.
