IT Specialist

Position Summary
The IT Specialist is responsible for the advanced support, optimization, and integration of IT and operational technology (OT) systems within a plastic pallet manufacturing facility. This role goes beyond day-to-day troubleshooting to include system administration, network management, cybersecurity, and support of industrial technologies such as injection molding systems, automation lines, and production software. The IT Specialist plays a key role in ensuring system reliability, minimizing downtime, and improving overall manufacturing efficiency while maintaining alignment with the Group IT located in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and cloud-based systems
- Provide Tier 1/2 technical support for complex hardware, software, and network issues
- Support and integrate manufacturing systems such as MES, ERP, and production tracking tools
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to support IT/OT systems, including HMI, SCADA, and PLC-connected devices
- Manage network performance, security, and uptime across office and production environments
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to protect business and operational data
- Oversee system backups, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity processes
- Manage user access, permissions, and identity systems (e.g., Active Directory)
- Lead or assist in IT projects such as system upgrades, automation improvements, and new technology implementations
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement
- Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5+ years of IT experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, virtualization, and networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP)
- Experience with system administration and troubleshooting complex IT environments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production setting
- Experience working with Intune, Entra, and M365
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in plastic manufacturing, injection molding, or industrial automation
- Familiarity with MES, ERP systems, and shop floor data collection tools
- Working knowledge of industrial systems such as PLCs, SCADA, and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure)
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified, or similar
- Understanding of IT/OT cybersecurity best practices

Work Environment

- Occasional after-hours or on-call support required to support 24/7 production
