To strengthen our team at the location in Leinfelden-Echterdingen (near Stuttgart) we are looking for an Electronic Hardware Engineer (m/f/d) with immediate effect.

YOUR NEW TASKS

1. Hardware Design & Development

  • Design and develop electronic hardware for mobility and industrial applications in close collaboration with the Hardware and System Architects.
  • Translate product and system requirements into robust, reliable, and cost-efficient hardware solutions.
  • Develop schematics, support PCB layout and manufacturing data, and select suitable electronic components and suppliers.
  • Continuously improve hardware development methods, tools, and processes

 

2. Hardware Validation & Testing

  • Plan and perform hardware validation and verification activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Support prototyping, laboratory testing, hardware bring-up, and ECU sample testing.
  • Perform hardware measurements using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and specialized test equipment.
  • Support PVT/DVT activities as well as external laboratories and partners for specialized testing and certification.

 

3. System Integration & Problem Solving

  • Collaborate with Hardware and System Architects to clarify technical topics and develop effective solutions.
  • Support the integration of hardware into automotive and embedded system architectures.
  • Analyze and resolve hardware-related defects and support design optimization throughout development.
  • Ensure compliance with product and system-level hardware requirements.

 

4. Quality, Standards & Industrialization

  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality requirements, development processes, and company guidelines.
  • Apply relevant standards and methodologies such as ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, IATF 16949, FMEA, and FMEDA.
  • Consider manufacturing requirements and support lean product industrialization from an early development stage.
  • Contribute to value engineering and the achievement of product cost targets.

 

5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve development and testing processes in terms of quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Promote modern development methods, tools, and technologies within the hardware organization.
  • Leverage AI-assisted technologies and engineering tools to improve development efficiency and quality.
  • Share knowledge and best practices within an international and agile team environment.

YOUR PROFILE

Your qualifications

  • Degree in Hardware Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
  • Good knowledge of automotive/embedded system architectures, communication buses, and modern E/E architectures.
  • Knowledge of relevant automotive standards such as ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, and IATF 16949, as well as FMEA/FMEDA.

Good command of English; German is an advantage.

Your achievements

  • Experience in automotive or industrial hardware development, including schematic design, PCB layout, and hardware validation.
  • Experience with tools such as Zuken CR-8000 or Altium Designer and requirements engineering tools such as DOORS or Confluence.
  • Experience with ECU bring-up, PVT/DVT activities, and hardware testing.
    Knowledge of agile development methods such as SCRUM or SAFe.
