How you'll make a positive impact

  • In this role, you will lead the strategic expansion of our out-licensing business and secure high-value in-licensing opportunities for AMW and Endomedica, our direct sales channel, driving long-term portfolio growth and synergy.
  • With full P&L ownership for a global licensing business exceeding EUR35 million, you will operate with the autonomy and accountability of a stand-alone business unit to deliver strong, sustainable financial results.
  • Working closely with global stakeholders, you will set licensing priorities and growth strategies, lead key account management and customer segmentation initiatives, and serve as a trusted ambassador for the organization at major international industry events.
  • Deepen market insights by refining go-to-market and entry strategies, analyzing industry trends, and leading competitive intelligence efforts across key innovation pipelines and market players.
  • Provide strategic leadership to Product Management, Product Launch and Commercial Operations to ensure seamless product launches and strengthen the partner value proposition through strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Lead the full deal lifecycle for in- and out-licensing transactions--from strategy and structuring through negotiation and closing--while overseeing budgets, managing external legal counsel, and guiding the core business function.

Your recipe for success

  • An academic degree in life sciences or pharmacy (e.g., biology, chemistry, biochemistry) or business with some exposure to life sciences
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business development/commercial roles in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Cross-functional leadership experience (5+ years) with a dedicated focus on mentoring and developing junior talent
  • Deep understanding of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, including market dynamics and commercialization potential
  • A very good command of English (additional German skills are an advantage)
  • Strong project management skills coupled with a highly analytical, data-driven mindset
  • High business acumen paired with excellent negotiation skills, ideally proven with a deal sheet
  • Strong networking abilities and cross-cultural intelligence to navigate successfully in an international environment
