We are looking for a new team member for our International Cooperation unit
in Hamburg, starting as soon as possible, as a
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Advisor (d/f/m)
- unlimited / 39 hours per week -
Your tasks:
- Provide technical advice and support throughout the project management cycle to the project teams of prioritized projects in the context of development cooperation and humanitarian action according to defined workplan
- Providing technical support to high priority Country Offices, supporting programme design, implementation, assessments and monitoring, feasibility studies, workshops, etc. according to defined workplan
- Advise on the development of robust and consistent monitoring frameworks for projects with SRHR components
- Support the integration of evidence-based program models into new and ongoing SRHR projects
- Support the SRHR Community of Practice to build and strengthen Plan Germany's internal technical expertise on SRHR programming, to continuously strengthen quality programming and knowledge management of Plan Germany's project managers
- Support the development and implementation of research initiatives related to SRHR as per the Plan Germany research Agenda
- Contribute to the work of the advocacy department in Plan Germany in developing position papers and conducting influencing events related to SRHR such as providing feedback and examples of case studies in GNO SRHR programming
- Ensure that Plan International's global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility
Your profile:
- Post-graduate university degree in relevant field of study (public health, nursing, gender studies, sociology, social work etc.) or a combination of equivalent education and lived experience
- Proven knowledge and understanding of SRHR programmatic approaches in international cooperation and humanitarian action
- Several years' experience designing, implementing and managing SRHR programmes in humanitarian action/international cooperation according to sectoral standards
Several years of experience in international cooperation and/or humanitarian action, with proven in-country experience
- Experience in capacity strengthening in SRHR with a variety of audiences, including lay audiences involved in project management with limited access to project implementation
- Basic understanding of other programmatic areas such as: Child Protection, Food Security and Nutrition, Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship, Youth engagement and Gender
- Good knowledge and experience of international guidelines, standards, and toolkits relating to SRHR in development and humanitarian contexts, and demonstrated commitment to staying informed and up to date with best practices in the field
- Knowledge of Results Based Management (RBM), design and monitoring of Logical Frameworks, and good practice approaches to monitoring and evaluation for SRHR
Knowledge of main institutional donors and a proven track record in developing funding proposals and reports for a range of institutional and other donors (especially GFFO, BMZ, ECHO, INTPA, and UNFPA)
- Fluency in English is required and fluency in Spanish and/or French is considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills involving listening to, interacting with, and communicating clearly with people from diverse nationalities and backgrounds, and senior-level internal and external partners, with a high degree of professionalism and pro-activity
