Manager Sustaining Engineering (m/f/d)

Your Strength

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Medical or Biomedical), with MS or MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing, design or development (including tissue, capital equipment, disposables, or implants)
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience directly managing engineering teams
  • In-depth knowledge of FDA, ISO, GMP, and design control regulations
  • Proficiency in project and resource management, risk management, statistical analysis, and technical documentation
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (Navision) and CAD tools (SolidWorks)
  • Fluent in German and full professional proficiency in English

Your Contribution

  • Lead and develop engineering project timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams
  • Manage design changes to existing medical products, ensuring regulatory compliance and cost-effectiveness
  • Provide technical guidance, oversee testing (verification/validation), and maintain high documentation standards
  • Act as technical lead on investigations (NCs, CAPAs, complaints) and collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, and Operations
  • Drive a culture of ownership, mentoring, and continuous improvement within the Sustaining Engineering team
  • Support international product approvals, supplier change assessments, and process improvements
  • Communicate project status and priorities effectively to internal and external stakeholders
