Senior Property Underwriter (m/w/d)

• Underwriting of profitable business in accordance with MSIGEU standards, processes, Rules and Principles, instructions and authorities, such as:
  • risk analysis, rating tool/premium calculation, compilation of data for referrals, preparation of tenders as well as negotiations
  • examination and negotiation of wordings
  • binding of new business and preparation of relevant information for Service & Support including IT booking and data reports
  • participation in meetings and individual appointments with clients
  • preparation of proposals regarding underwriting decision (beyond authority)
  • monitoring the portfolio regarding commercial requirements
  • portfolio management, profitability control and, if necessary, implementation of corrective measures
  • adapting underwriting strategy, risk appetite and pricing policy
  • ability on determination of reinsurance requirements in close cooperation with Head of C&S and Head of Underwriting
• Working and liaising with Claims Manager to improve the Underwriting process.
• Supporting the Head of C&S in all relevant activities.
• Planning of business development, actions to expand new and existing business.
• Organisation, information and communication within the responsibilities.
• Participation on strategy discussion (internal/external).
• Special tasks (e.g. developing new products jointly with the Head of C&S and the Head of Underwriting).

• Business Economics or Law.
• Good ability to think analytically and systematically.
• Several years' professional experience in Underwriting Casualty Business such as General Liability/Product Liability/Employers' Liability. Personal Accident or Specialties such as D&O or Professional Indemnity or Cyber risks are considered a plus.
• High level of self-motivation and resilience.
• High self-motivation and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to cooperation and team player.
• Ability to think and act entrepreneurial along with decision-making capability.
• Confident handling of common MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.).
• Good knowledge of English language.
