About the Role

As a Research Manager, you'll lead interdisciplinary R&D programs in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Simulation, Digital Twins, and Engineering Sciences. You'll work with our customers --  world-leading companies like Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, BMW, -- and top universities e.g., MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, Stanford and ETH Zurich -- shaping projects that bridge academia and industry. 

• Lead and manage international research projects across AI, Data Science, and Engineering. 
• Build and run multi-stakeholder consortia with universities, tech giants, and public institutions. 
• Identify emerging research opportunities and drive competitive funding proposals (EU & national). 
• Translate complex scientific insights into technologies that redefine industries. 
• Represent TWT at major conferences and review panels -- and make your mark in the global research community. 
• Mentor exceptional young researchers and foster internal excellence. 

• PhD or Postdoctoral degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related fields preferably from a top university. 
• Proven success in coordinating international and interdisciplinary research programs. 
• Strong grasp of AI, data-driven engineering, or simulation-based design. 
• Experience with EU or national funding programs (Horizon Europe, DFG, BMBF, etc.). 
• Fluent in English and German; strong communicator across cultures and disciplines. 
• A growth mindset, strategic thinking, and the ability to turn research into reality.
