We have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join a small and friendly team in our offices in the beautiful Peak District National Park.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the appointed Quality Engineer will have the following responsibilities.
Primary responsibilties:
- To work within the Quality team helping to ensure that all products and processes meet our quality standards.
- To fulfil the role of Calibration Laboratory Manager within the requirements of the current release of ISO/IEC 17025
- Ensure that Laboratory processes and procedures meet the requirements of the latest edition of ISO/IEC 17025
- Ensure that all equipment relevant to the "LAB" operation is kept in full working condition, maintained and suitably / independently calibrated by a UKAS Accredited Calibration Laboratory.
- Maintain Approved Supplier List in conjunction with the Service Team Leader & Purchasing Manager
- Ensure that the Service Team are suitably trained and competent for all LAB tasks.
- To carry out suitable LAB test work to verify and validate variables contributing to the Uncertainty Budget and CMC (Calibration & Measurement Capability).
- Maintain records for all LAB work & results, in conjunction with the Service Team Leader.
- To carry out Internal Auditing to ensure all company procedures are being adhered to and raising the necessary paperwork and corrective actions.
- To carry out any quality related task relevant to the product, customer or quality system.
- To assist with continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure that all product testing is carried out in accordance with agreed parameters and results collated and recorded.
Key skills and qualifications:
- Experience of working as a part of a Quality team
- Knowledge and experience of ISO/IEC 17025 would be an advantage.
- Experience of the manufacturing sector is essential - functions including Sheet Metal work and fabrication, mechanical, electrical assembly, testing and Despatch.
- A formal qualification to Degree level is preferred.
- Experience of working in a quality environment, interacting with customer and suppliers.
- Audit experience preferred.
- Supplier quality management experience beneficial.
- Any exposure to the BS EN ISO 9001:2015 is beneficial.
