Powder Machine Operator

e-VAC Magnetics LLC, a member of VAC Group, is currently seeking a Powder Machine Operator.  The position will be located on-site in our manufacturing facility in Sumter, South Carolina. This facility is currently being constructed and will house the production of permanent magnets for electric vehicles and defense applications. The Powder Machine Operator will perform powder handling, system operation for powder production.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials for further processing using correct process flows.
  • Obtain the resources and auxiliary materials necessary and prepare them according to specifications. (e.g., unpacking foil folds and raw materials)
  • Check the setting parameters according to specifications and adjust them accordingly.
  • Set up systems, devices, or simple machines according to specifications,
  • Enter production data or select a production program.
  • Prepare material for the intended work process (e.g., on-time powder supply to the presses, coarse mixes AFG mills and VX production).
  • Take and measure samples.
  • Determine the processing time and sequence based on the measurement results and ripening time.
  • Safely package materials
  • Measure and document finished product.
  • Perform the timely transport of materials, individual parts and finished products within the plant using forklifts and/or other equipment.
  • Eliminate malfunctions. Detect and analyze, and resolve process malfunctions on machines (e.g., program abort)
  • Perform machine cleaning and simple maintenance activities according to plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3 plus years of experience in a similar manufacturing production or industrial setting
  • Technical education, certification or training preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Able to problem solve independently when needed.
  • Motivated to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.
  • Ability to travel to German Headquarters for initial training.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
