Your Job:

  • Valuation and Pricing: You define pricing and risk parameters for our German Flexibility and Renewables portfolio in close collaboration with our Rotterdam trading team. This includes valuation of battery energy storage systems (BESS), Wind Curtailment, and other types of CO2-free flex. While the focus will be on Flex, you will also work on Renewable Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Direct Market Agreements (DMAs)
  • Business Case Ownership: You translate pricing and risk data into actionable business cases, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness, making decisions based on risk-reward assessments
  • Deal Collaboration: Join forces with Structuring & Origination on innovative Tolling Agreements for Flex sources such as BESS, PPAs and DMAs to bring complex deals to life
  • Administration: You maintain and administer all deals in our trading systems, ensuring MtM and P&L accuracy
  • Proactive Trend Analysis: You identify market trends early, providing creative ideas to boost commercial outcomes
  • Tool Alignment: You manage and optimize your analytical tools, coordinating with Hamburg and Rotterdam teams
  • Regulatory Insight: You stay updated on market trends, informing the Regulatory Affairs team to support energy transition strategies
  • Market Expertise: As Portfolio Manager you leverage your deep knowledge of the German market to elevate our portfolio
  • P&L Accountability: You take charge of profit and loss performance for your portfolio, with a commitment to strategic growth
  • Knowledge Sharing: You facilitate the exchange of insights and best practices between the Hamburg and Rotterdam teams

Your Skills:

  • Relevant Academic Background: You have a degree in a field that supports analytical rigor, such as finance, econometrics or engineering
  • Experience Requirement: Several years (+3 or more) of relevant experience in the energy trading domain with good understanding of the German Renewables and Flexibility portfolio's, as well as energy commodity markets and ancillary service markets
  • Analytical Proficiency: You have strong modeling skills, with Excel expertise and Python as a bonus
  • Operational Excellence: You have experience in structuring and streamlining processes with a keen eye for detail
  • Entrepreneurial Drive: You have a results-oriented approach, adaptable to market demands with innovative problem-solving
  • Stakeholder Management: You are a proactive communicator, effectively aligning with colleagues in Hamburg and Rotterdam
  • Leadership in Action: You have a results-oriented approach, adaptable to market demands with innovative problem-solving and the Ability to mentor junior colleagues, offering guidance on day-to-day tasks and long-term strategies
