REVELATION, a doctoral college in the biomedical and machine leaning sector offered by the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences (FH Salzburg) and the Paris Lodron University Salzburg (PLUS), will employ a PhD Student to address challenges in biomedical image analysis in the areas of cellular diagnostics, infectious diseases and cellular communication using cutting-edge computer vision and deep learning techniques.

The programme is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and co-funded by the county of Salzburg. It will consist of courses such as formal PhD seminars, doctoral college courses, as well as informal PhD journal clubs. PhDs will be supervised by a supervision team of both institutions (FH Salzburg and PLUS). The FH Salzburg and the PLUS have established a long-standing cooperation, which is now being further expanded in the form of a joined doctoral programme in the field of AI-supported innovation in biomedical imaging. This collaboration makes it possible to combine basic research with applied science and aims to advance both our understanding of biological processes and the development of new therapeutic options. The FH Salzburg is characterized by its practice-oriented education and its strong focus on applied research, while the PLUS is known for its outstanding achievements in research and teaching and its inter- and transdisciplinary networking. The PhD students will be supervised by both institutions and can also gain valuable experience abroad and collaborate with leading international scientists and renowned companies during the programme.
