What You Will Do
- Determining the operational and strategic aspects of the company in the growing market for renewable energies and battery storage
- Taking budget, profit and personnel responsibility for the UK Trading company
- Representing the company within and outside the Group vis-à-vis customers, business partners, regulators and authorities
- Being responsible for the establishment of governance for the new company under the umbrella of the BayWa r.e. AG Group in cooperation with BayWa r.e. Energy Trading (Germany) GmbH and the existing local units of BayWa r.e. AG in the UK
- Establishing and supporting the UK local trading team in the development of the operational business, across PPA sales, portfolio analysis and pricing as well as settlements and billing
- Implementing the operational business around the UK route to market, Flexibility Optimisation and Short Term PPA in cooperation with the product management of BayWa r.e. Energy Trading (Germany) GmbH
- Creating sales and action plans and being responsible for achieving sales targets
- Being in charge for the development of the IT structure in energy trading, in cooperation with IT-department of BayWa r.e. Energy Trading (Germany) GmbH
- Motivating and challenging your employees, as well as leading and developing them in an appreciative manner and ensuring productive and performance-orientated employee deployment
- Open to travel within the UK and Europe
Your Profile
- Proven experience in energy trading in a senior managerial position (front or middle office) with a very good understanding of end-to-end Structured Trading, PPA and portfolio optimisation processes - practical experience in advisory, corporate development, and/or investment management is a plus
- String energy market expertise and commercial acumen, with, experience in budget and personnel responsibility and excellent communication skills
- Extensive and proven leadership skills
- In-depth experience in the marketing of UK renewable energy systems and the optimisation of batteries in the spot, balancing mechanism and balancing energy markets
- Prior experience in the origination, structuring and negotiation of Renewables PPAs and Flexibility Offtake within the GB Market
- Highly structured and responsible way of working, prioritising tasks and topics independently and meeting deadlines
- Existing network of trading partners and asset owners in the UK and experience in liaising with customers
- Negotiating experience, confidence in communicating at all company levels and successful target achievement
- Entrepreneurial personality who enjoys working in a dynamic and performance-oriented environment
- Strong hands-on mentality and ideally knowledge of SalesForce, Endur, Confluence and Jira
- Suitable postgraduate qualification (e.g., ACA, CFA, MBA)
