We are hiring a Head of Engineering for Brecksville, Ohio. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Head of Engineering is responsible for leading/coordinate the Engineering team as well as development and design of all TEST-FUCHS US products.
Responsibilities
- Manage the product development process till transfer to production
- Ensure all designs meet customer requirements and internal standards
- Lead and develop the US-Engineering Team (approx. 10 members) for US-specific projects
- Mentor team members and ensure ongoing qualification, training, and performance management of the Engineering team
- Coordinate design concepts for quotations, engineering design, and design-for-manufacturing activities
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams
- Represent Test-Fuchs at customer with sales, at military and civil customers
- Improve engineering standards, methods, and systems in alignment with headquarters in Austria
Qualifications
- College degree in Applied Science or equivalent technical diploma/certificate, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in CAD and PLM systems (preferably Creo and Windchill)
- Proven leadership experience managing teams of up to 10 members
- Strong ability to translate customer requirements into innovative designs and guide the transition from design to production
- Solid knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematic design
- Excellent coordination and communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Highly self-motivated with excellent time management skills
