The Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (www.bnitm.de) is the largest Research Institute for Tropical Medicine in Germany and is the National Reference Centre for Tropical Pathogens, a WHO Collaborating Centre and member of the Leibniz Research Association.

The core facility flow cytometry of the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg is looking for a highly motivated


Flow Cytometry Specialist/Operator (m/f/d)
 

The core facility is associated with the AG Protozoa Immunology (headed by PD Dr. Thomas Jacobs). The successful candidate will be part of the team but will support all immunology groups at the Institute.  
 

Your profile:

  • A PhD with strong experience in the area of flow cytometry
  • Outstanding skills in performing flow cytometric assays
  • Excellent hands-on skills in performing cell sorting and flow cytometry analysis
  • Broad experience with flow cytometric data analysis tools
  • Excellent technological understanding of flow cytometry and know-how in immunology
  • Able to work in an independent, quality-oriented fashion and open to new challenges
  • Very good communication and collaboration skills in English are required

Your responsibilities:

  • Instruction of new users and support with panel design
  • Organization of technical training programs
  • Supporting the design of new experiments and subsequent data analysis
  • Engagement in the development and establishment of novel technologies
  • Planning and performing cell sorting experiments
  • Organization of the maintenance of equipment
