The position is in the Data Analytics and Engineering team, which is responsible for providing Data Science, Data Analytics and Data Management to the whole company, enabling easy data driven decision making to all relevant business stakeholders by providing actionable insights.
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing the data architecture of cosnova's data platform, guaranteeing data quality through low-maintenance data governance measures and ensures data availability by choosing appropriate data models and technologies. They are going to oversee the integration of new data sources into the data platform and automate data processing pipelines. The Data Engineer identifies and evaluates new relevant technologies or methodologies to support the optimization of the AI platform.

- Technical and conceptional ownership of the cosnova data platform from development to provisioning to maintenance
- builds, automates and optimizes data processing pipelines and storage for data integration and data driven solutions (streaming and batch data)
- interfaces with internal data providers and technical teams to build an efficient data platform as single source of truth for the company
- collaborates with external service providers to develop the data backbone of the AI platform
- Creates valuable data products to address business needs
- supports Business Analysts, Data Analysts and Scientists to deliver algorithmic data products
- Ensures scalability of the data platform with focus on data availability and quality
- Implements data governance measures
- Extends the data strategy and the technology stack to react to business requirements and changes in the market

- Advanced degree in computer science or related quantitative discipline
- +5 years working experience as Data Engineer or comparable role
- Demonstratable knowledge in building and maintaining a scalable cloud-based data processing and provisioning stack
- Strong knowledge in databases and data modelling techniques, especially Data Vault 2.0
- Experienced with data architecture frameworks, like Modern Data Warehouse, Data Mesh, Data Fabric
- Comfortable in developing container-based environment in a CI/CD framework
- Excellent programming skills in Python and SQL
- Fluent in English, German is a plus
