Climate Change Technical Specialist (d/f/m)

- unlimited / full-time (39 hours per week) -


Your tasks:

  • Track and analyze funding opportunities from climate-relevant donors (Green Climate Fund, Adaptation Fund, BMZ, EU, etc.).
  • Develop the technical design of climate-related project proposals (adaptation, mitigation, resilience, nature-based solutions, DRR, etc.). 
  • Engage with donor focal points to position the organization as a credible climate actor and to shape upcoming calls for proposals.  
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure climate is embedded in budgeting, MEAL frameworks, and risk mitigation plans. 
  • Represent the organization in national climate dialogues, technical working groups, and climate adaptation networks. 
  • Foster learning loops between implementation teams and bussines development teams. 
  • Provide comprehensive technical support across the full project cycle. 
  • Contribute to Community of Practice within GNO to strengthen internal technical expertise, improve programme quality, and enhance knowledge management. 

Your profile:

  • Master's degree in Climate Change, Environmental Management, or related field
  • 7+ years of professional experience in climate resilience, adaptation programming, and grant acquisition 
  • Technical knowledge in climate risk assessments 
  • Technical knowledge in climate-smart agriculture and nature-based solutions 
  • Technical knowledge in proposal design for climate finance (Adaptation Fund, bilateral donors, etc.)
